“The city of Euclid was named after the Greek mathematician and was established as a township in 1809. Its leading industries have included the cultivation of wheat and table grapes, salt processing, shipbuilding, and milling.
Euclid’s location is a big plus as it is located near the junction of Interstate 90, Interstate 271, and Ohio Route 2, providing easy access by car to surrounding areas like downtown Cleveland, Lake County, and most of the East suburbs. It is also serviced by Amtrak and is situated near the Cleveland airport.
Ethnically and economically, it is one of the more diverse cities in the area. The weather is diverse as well, with an average high of 82 degrees in July and an average of a whopping 61 inches of snow (more than double the US average) per year. Picturesque, snowy scenes are typical in December, to the delight of children and all those filled with Yuletide spirit. The prodigious snowfall is caused by the city’s location on the shore of Lake Erie, which when not causing lake-effect snow, is an excellent place to fish, swim, kayak, or boat in the summer months.
There are two public beaches in Euclid that are open for jogging or walking: Kenneth J. Sims Park and Euclid Beach Park. The park spans 56 acres, is located in the downtown district and features sports facilities like multiple baseball fields, which could be a great place to play catch. It is open to its residents all year. If golf is more your speed, you can squeeze in a round or two at a few courses in and around Euclid. The Briardale Greens Golf Club is a public, par-70 course in town that features a restaurant and bar at the clubhouse for when you finish your round.” – Euclid
